Have been in a funk lately (fishing, mental, physical, all of it), and have been anxious for spring to kick it into gear around here. Have had a couple of days in the 70s, but in Iowa we have like 3 false springs. Today was 48°, overcast, and 20+ mph wind, but I've been reading about barometric pressure and how it can entice bites. So I took a long lunch and walked around a lake to a spot I've never been, and landed a couple of these guys in about an hour. Not trophy material, but always fun. Sharing to remind everyone to get outside! Beats any day in an office.

I’m so envious. We have a fish/conservarion/wildlife by law where I live that prohibits catching bass between November 30 or December 31 (depending on the “zone”) and the fourth Saturday in June. No idea why. Moreover to the point, I want to go bass fishing so bad.
