Betta Fish: I’m absolutely devastated

My beautiful funny smart healthy little boy Barry is gone !!!! I did a normal routine water change today fed him all was well. I just recently added three black nerite snails with him and he was goofy with them he’d check the out and examine them and swim away . Every morning he would come up and do his little wiggle like hi mom food time ?? I can’t explain how much I love this betta I own four and he was by far my favorite he always looked like he was smiling at me. He didn’t have the usual frown ☹️ pouty look he just always looked happy . So I take a nap and wake up to do my rounds and check on everyone and he was GONE! I pulled out his tank moved the dresser everything looked in the vent and nothing I was so confused . And he has a lid mind u it was ever so slightly pushed up and I noticed that and was even more confused . Then it hit me!!! I let my daughter adopt a cat her name is bug and oh my god does her name fit her personality she’s all into everything!! The deal was this cat was supposed to live upstairs I have a very big house and the upstairs is the size of most people entire home our house is 5,069 sq ft. So the cat was supposed to stay upstairs. Well my daughter who is 15 accidentally let her out and fell asleep and I believe bug ate my poor Barry I can’t explain the pure sadness I feel right now . Sorry for rambling about this but my boyfriend thinks I’m goofy for having all these bettas in the first place (he doesn’t get it) sadly he just doesnt ! He complains all the time like Kayla how many fish tanks do you need your a crazy fish lady …. Yep I am and so what I literally love my babies like there my children they all eat the best foods have the best plants and homes possible the first picture of Barry is when I first got him which was so long ago he went from fake plants to all live and frozen food only he was my baby. And I hate to think he died like this
