Been fishing my whole life, familiar with just about everything native and invasive to texas. Or i thought i was until i caught a fish shaped like a bowfin with needles for teeth in brakish water (seabrook). And then i caught another one the next day 15 miles away in cow bayou. Same fish same exact size. This was years ago and i havent seen or heard of any others being caught. I had to use google lens to identify it and i came to the conclusion it was a species of goby called a "Bigmouth Sleeper". Im wondering if this is as rare as i think. First one ate a dead shrimp, second one ate a crappie jig. Both were about a pound
