This is my first time using a lure and I bought a 1/2 oz Johnson Silver Minnow Weedless Silver spoon. The hook is fixed to the lure.

My rod is a Penn Squadron IV Ultra fast spinning rod with a 1 oz lure weight limit.

I mainly fish saltwater in Florida for Redfish, Spanish Mackerel, trout and flounder. The water is usually clear so thats why i got a silver spoon.

Whats the best approach for catching these fish with this lure?

Probably the most tried and true lure out there.

Great for reds, trout and snook.

I prefer gold but silver will definitely still do well.

Throw some mullet pro-cure on there to give it the extra edge for reds.

  2. Put a swivel on it and huck it out there, you can add a grub to the hook for extra action as well.

I use them for pike in the midwest. Put a soft plastic on the end for more action.

Straight retrieve, the spoon wobbles like a kastmaster
