I recently discovered alien bettas and decided they are without a doubt my favorite bettas.
However, I saw another post discussing "comp grade" bettas, and their fins were exactly like this. Are alien bettas fins naturally very round/very straight like the photo? Or were they cut? 🙁
Thank you in advance! My tank is ready and I'm about to go get myself a second betta so I wanted to see if alien would be a good choice!

Might be trimmed or just really lucky genes
My boy looks about like that (but darker blue) when he isn’t being lazy on his leaf.
I think your chances of finding one exactly like this are low. But plenty of bettas have tons similar to this, like halfmoons or deltas. They can be naturally round.
Pretty sure they’re just shaped like that because of the hybrid genes. Mr. Limpet has definitely NOT had any fins cut at all, and that’s what he looks like (his tail is bent in the picture.). He’s very close to the photo when he’s got his fins all out (would he appreciate me taking those pictures? no.).

Ham hasn’t had his fins trimmed
Most Alien bettas are not like that. Thats a very high grade one in the picture.
However they are like that ‘naturally’ or as naturally as you can get for a hybrid.
