I rescued Leslie when she was just a baby, but she might have just been severely malnourished. She was ill when I got her, had a tumor already.

She white really transluscent and I am so happy I got to see her become as white as a pearl, even see little pigments of blue and purple show on her fins. Around a year later I am preparing to say goodbye.

She isn't eating at all, water is pristine, and her tumor has gotten to the point where its affecting her ability to swim.

Just to introduce her too, shes always been a very peaceful betta. She's alone now with her shrimp buddies, who she actually just likes watching and would protect when I had a small school of tetras with her. She has never bit any fishies or shrimpies (except once lol).

Shes no longer doing a little happy dance when I approach the tank, shes just resting a lot and often at angle with one of her fins working hard and the other stabilizing her on something as she drinks air from the top.

Every now and then she bounces back and swims around like nothings wrong but I have been preparing to say goodbye to her, and she got me into aquascaping.

Shes always been a little friend who I sit next to when I watch shows or play video games, she has always been so docile and likes following you around the room when I was cleaning, and shes always been happy to explore all around her tank. Leslie was named after an elderly neighbor I lost this past year unexpectedly that I liked helping with her garden, and I tried to give Leslie (the fish lol) and nice underwater garden of her own.

I love her, she's the best girl, a really one of a kind personality in a fish and has been with me through a bad year in my life. Im just preparing to say goodbye and I wanted to share my little friend with everyone.
