I heard loaches can sense weather changes and the tank is super close to my big window and its supposed to rain today at 10 am and its about 8 am now.

At 12 am I did an ammonia test with an api chemical test kit and it was like in the middle for 0.25 to 0.50. I did a 50% water change, added seachen prime to the new water in a seperate bucket. And dosed the full tank for api quick start with 20 ml since its a 20 gallon tank. At 8 am the water seems to be very close to being free of ammonia. Since I couldnt really tell if the water was actually free of ammonia because the color chart on the card was like very very bright yellow, i tested new bottled water in the same test tube and added 8 drops of each chemicals into that fresh bottled water in the test tube and shook it up. Then i added it to a glass container. I then tested the tank water and added 8 drops of both chemicals from the ammonia test kit and comparing both together they looked very very similar.

I got these loaches like 4 or 5 days ago so their still pretty new to the tank. I bought them online with next day delivery from aqua huna.

I also removed that red shrimp food disk that the loach was eating after like 15 to 20 minutes.

  1. Forgot 2 mention that I have 6 of these little guys

By the way before I did the water change or even tested the water, they were all acting normal; digging in the sand, squeezing through tight areas like the thick roots of an Amazon sword, and sorta hopping around on the sand. Its almost 9 now and most seem to have settled back in the valisneria or just up against the glass.

I also have a Fluval AquaClear Power Filter thats like for 40 to 70 gallons, but it has the number 70 engraved on the lid. Its set to the lowest setting and since the waterfall was still a little too strong and the water in the tank would evaporate fast which made the water fall even farther, I cut the middle part of a clean plastic water bottle and hooked it at the flow part of the filter so now the water flows sideways instead of in the front.

Sorry for going into 2 much details, I just really like these guys
