Haven’t really targeted catfish until a week or two ago so I’m not so proficient in catfish id’s.

Oh and I have a catfish on my line stuck under a rock and I really don’t want to cut off 15 feet of line, any tips??

Have you tried opening your bail and seeing if it will swim out?

Bottom is 100% a channel, and an extremely derpy one at that. Top there’s no way to tell without seeing the anal fin that’s blocked in this pic. Both species can vary pretty widely in color so when they’re small like this the difference in that fin is the only way to tell with certainty.

Channels. I snap the rod around if they don’t swim out…and pray.
