Trika 6X MLXF 6'10" rod with a Shimano Vanford 2500 HGA. 8lb spro hi-vis pink braid/ 6lb samurai fluoro leader.
Normally I spend about $200-250 on a combo. I decided to upgrade a bit for a dedicated finesse combo. Challenging myself this season to master drop-shotting. So far im extremely impressed with both the reel and rod. the vandford is very smooth, it starts and stops on a dime. The trika is also impressive ive never used a ML or an XF but im having alot of fun with it. the rod is very light and EXTREMELY sensitive (which was the goal of the build) , similar to a zodias. so far ive been having success on some pre spawn perch! cant wait for walleye season!
Having our first baby this summer so I figured id get one last combo before I can't anymore 🤣.

Sweet! I have my vanford 2500 on a ML/F St Croix Avid. Absolutely love 1/4oz swimjigs and 2.5″ jerkbaits on that set for large and smallmouth bass. It’s going to be really hard for you to go backwards from Vanford lol
