Made my first 2 lures last winter and they are balanced well and the heads seem to want to shake back and forth when reeling. However I believe the tails (cheap paintbrush bristles) are restricting the bait from moving to its full potential. Does anyone know what I could sub in instead so that these baits will swim properly?

Just an idea- very, very thin, rigid plastic. Youâd want something perhaps thinner if you know the action is what you want, but maybe try cutting an old credit card just to see if the action improves.
