Been tying FG's for about 9 years now. This is 6lb (0.121mm) mainline to 8lb (0.20mm) leader. Both are japanese lines so they really are super thin. All in all, practice makes perfect, keep tying!

wow noice. being that thin, you use anything to help you tie that without the braid cutting into u? (i figured glove but wondering if it cuts into that glove too?)

FG knot are the best in my opinion, they cast so smooth

Finally dialed in tying FGs on lighter line and one of the best tips I can give is use lots of tag when tying. Also as much as it sucks to snap the knot when sinching it, it will give you a good basis of how much power you need and what not to do next time!

After some time it’s funny to think back how you struggled tying the fg knot when first you started to practice. It is very simple but a 0.3 PE really does like to dig into skin when lot of tension is applied.

I got my fg knot down really good. How many wraps do you do for light line like this?
