Can you pros shed some light on how to approach this?
I was standing across closer to B throwing some live salmonfly type of bugs expecting some little 6inch redband trout when a ~4lb monster took it right at about A. It went down stream closer to C and I pretty much knew I was screwed as I was also on 4lb line and just not in a position to land that fish and lost it when it snagged me on a tree branch.
Now knowing what could be in here (my intel suggested solely small 6in Redbands) what would be the best way to fish this pocket in hopes of catching a bigger fish. In the photo I was standing in a new spot but still concerned if the fish went behind the rock near C/E. Should I head to the other side and cast upstream from E?
Hope some of this makes sense honestly just trying to figure out how to do this, I’m also just in shorts and some water shoes so I can go in there and get wet but nothing too crazy.
Also I did start catching some little redbands around D but it seemed to be hit and miss so if you have any tips for that I’d appreciate it too thanks

I would cast directly into the overhanging branch on the other side
You got it to bite so whatever you did was right, now just go in more prepared to fight the fish
I’m working that whole area top to bottom side to side with a streamer; I’d try a few different sizes and colors before throwing some heavy nymphs and junk flies deep.
