It’s a bluegill bully and it’s an excellent fly. The back is weighted so it sinks rearward as you pause it in the water and the legs jiggle. It’s also well designed so small mouthed panfish are a little less likely to swallow it whole. It can also work on trout and other species but it shines on panfish.

Best bluegill fly imo, I’m not sure the name either but they slay panfish in that color or in black.

It seems to be a hybrid greenie weenie of sorts, the legs aren’t on the typical pattern, but they definitely wouldn’t hurt. Legendary panfish fly. Funny name. Will work for trout too.

Some flies just look generally buggy but don’t match any particular bug.

  5. What is there to understand? Its a green bug thing.

Fish dont know the latin names of any bug species. If it looks like food they will eat it.

  6. I believe that’s the very rare McDonalds fast food fly. It’ll bring’em, especially if you use a French fry as your indicator. 😂
