Hey y’all. I need some help. My snail’s butt has been swollen for a while now. They’re pretty elderly at this point and at least 2 years old now. I figured it was close to their time given age and the evident edema. But it’s been about a month or so and they’re still kicking. Eating and shuffling around the tank. There’s little to no information about snail medicine online so I don’t know what to do. I absolutely cannot crush or freeze them. It would kill something in me. I was waiting for them to die but they just won’t. What do I do? I don’t want them to be struggling or in pain but I can’t euthanize him in the ‘standard’ ways for snails. How can help???

If it’s still doing all the snail things why kill it? It’s quality of life doesn’t seem impacted
Just a note that 2 years insnt really elderly for nerites to my knowledge. I currently have a nine year old one
