What’s the point in getting a 330 spool of mono anymore?
I usually use bass pros excel line for monofilament, but this new jumbo spool is insane. 10 bucks for 1400 yards??? to that’s over 1000 yards more for just 4 bucks added to the 330.

Only time I buy mono is for backing, and I put backing on ALOT of reels so I actually love this deal

Mono is still heavily used in saltwater fishing.

Mono has better abrasion resistance and sometimes for bigger baits and fish (using mono as a leader with braid) you want that. Big snook for example. Flouro has much less stretch, claims to be invisible, with decent abrasion resistance. Better for smaller soft plastics and stuff imo. Like 1/8-/14ish. Also if using trebles that stretch in the line can help.
Don’t get wrapped up in marketing. Just pay attention to what your fishing for and the conditions and way your fishing.

Mono will go bad after 1-2 years
