I named him Matcha for the green tint on his fins. but hes got some black lines on his fins and outlining a few scales. other then that he's almost completely transparent. He's also got a light blue sheen on his fins when hes in the light. I adopted him becuase he was giving me the stinkeye while I was buying cat food at petco. He likes to twerk and he throws himself into the water coming out of the filter.

He will most likely turn a different colour if looked after properly. Maybe a dark blue. Looks like that right now mostly because of being in a cup at the pet store .
The more they become comfortable in their environment, the more their color changes and brightens! He’s happy to be out of that cup!
The black lines typically represent stress and the losing colour is a side effect of that also where they put their energy into protecting themselves rather than looking beautiful! Have you checked your nitrate levels in the tank? If they are ok it could just he the stress of moving to a new environment but that will chnage overtime as it becomes his territory.
PS if that last pic is what i assume. Then you rescued him from truly shit conditions anyway so I know you got him with the best of intentions! I would recommend getting some bactostary and aquasafe (or the equivalentto where you live) which will also help th3 water conditions

This betta here has since passed, but he looks like that from stress! It’s common for them to change colors regardless, however once they have proper care after being stressed it can be a world of difference. This Reddit page is great for information for new betta owners, so I suggested scrolling through it and absorbing as much information as you can. Look up nitrogen cycle/fish in cycle if you haven’t taken care of that yet! But a wealth of helpful information is on here for if you need to know anything.
Some beta just have clear fins, maybe he’ll gain colour once his in a good tank, plenty of reasons. Since he seems to be a new fish it’s hard to tell rn
Remove the color gravel
He could be a cellophane betta but it’s likely he will gradually gain some colour as he adjusts
Just give him some time, he’s gonna be fine. I was constantly scared my betta boi wasn’t doing well & now he will swim up to me to give me a kiss through the glass. Sit with him. I like to hum to my boys
