I'm having a problem with my betta fish, i'm overfeeding him with pieces of shrimp that are too big. I'm not one to take pleasure in overfeeding my fish, I consider myself to be very good at controlling his daily food intake and there's never any leftover food in the tank. But this morning I made a terrible mistake like i said I gave him a piece of shrimp that was too big for him, a few hours after he showed signs of shortness of breath, his gills were beating faster than normal, and he released small bubbles of air through his gills, he started spending more time on the surface of the water trying to breathe, and I saw that he had vomited up the piece of shrimp I had given him a few hours earlier.
Aside from those symptoms, he looks fine hee can still swim and dive normally without any problems with his bubbles. He still reacts when I'm there, especially showing excitement to eat again when I put my finger in the water. In my videos, you can see his gills are beating faster than normal. As soon as he vomited his food, I immediately take it out when he tried to eat again.
How should I intervene? I was careless and have no excuse for giving him a piece of shrimp that was too big. If someone asks why I feed them shrimp, it's not the first time I've fed my bettas shrimp, I feed them as a treat once a month.
I've had hom for 8 months, and his tank is about 10 months old, stable with plants.

This isn’t a death sentence, nor is it that bad tbh. Fasting a day or two to make sure it’s all properly digested and gone through is enough. 🙂
if he is active and excited it helps him pass the food. Get him to swim laps or flare if you can.
