Hi chat! I was having a smoothie at an icecream place and I saw this beta fish in the window in a small space with no air filtration or "deco". Now I am an owner of pond fish so I dont know how beta fish should live, but i did talk to the owner stating it needs a filtration system, aeration ect… Was i right doing it?

Unfortunately some people choose to stay ignorant to proper fish and tank husbandry because it’s “just a fish”. I always ask people if they’d treat a dog or cat with such little care and that all animals are living creatures that deserve equal care regardless of species.
Absolutely right! However, people get really upset when you tell them they are essentially abusing their fish⊠I always start by making it clear that I am not accusing them of that but just want to let them know/educate them.
Hopefully this person thinks about what you said and does get this fish the care it needs. Also with him being right in the shop window, I imagine the direct Sun isnât doing him any favors
Why are there seemingly no laws to protect these guys?
