My dad bought me this along with other hooks and tackle after I told him I want to try fishing (mainly salt water). How can I use these? What rig would I set it up as? Is it good for salt water? Anything helps lol

Jig head for Crappie fishing.

Its a jig. Basically a weighted hook. You put a plastic or live bait on it. How you use it depends on what you put on it.

It’s a jig head. You thread a plastic grub or paddle tail onto the hook and cast and retrieve it. One of the most simple yet effective techniques there is.

That’s a jig head. You’d thread a paddle tail swim bait on there or a grub or similar soft plastic. You sure can use them in salt, I often throw them from the surf. Targeting Halibut. What rod/reel combo do you have available and where are you fishing at, geographically?

They really work great. One day my brother – in-law and I filled two five gallon buckets full with yellow river perch using small jig heads with crappie plastics.
You need a tool to clean off the paint where the line ties on.

Good for bouncing off/near the bottom. Put a plastic grub or paddle tail on it, let it sink to the bottom, reel in a few inches of line then do a “twitch” followed by a couple cranks and let it fall again. Rinse and repeat.
