Noticed this on one corner of my 5 gallon fish tank. It starts around the top and thins as it travels down tank. Tank is less than a year old. It’s my only rimless tank and it has 4 glass feet built into bottom (5 gallon shrimp tank petco). Is this serious?? I’m gonna track if the cracks travel down more but if this is urgent I’m gonna get a new tank I don’t want to wake up the floor soaked or an exploded tank of dead shrimp 🙃

I have no clue, but personally speaking I don’t trust like that based on its looks 😬

I just noticed that the shelving unit bows a little in the middle even with the 3 layers of plywood. Meaning the rimless tank (with built in glass feet, doesn’t depend on a foam mat) leans to the left and I’m highly certain the tank has torsion. The rimmed one seems fine because of its structural support.

Important Lesson/Tip from this Experience: I saw other YouTubers using the Amazon Essential heavy duty shelving unit combined with waterproofed plywood which inspired this setup but based on my experience I highly urge everyone to get a different kind of heavy duty shelf. Get a shelf that doesn’t have wiring and has more structural support and combine it with a waterproofed plywood base so weight distribution is as even as possible

  3. I have this exact same thing from 2 petco tank i got, its crazy I think its common. I did use these tanks for few months then gave them away for free cuz i was also paranoid since its lots of water, but they didn’t leak for me, no expanding too, they change with water level. The 2 people who got my tanks didn’t send me any complaint, i guess its just common manufacturing defect.
