Betta Fish: Lost my Betta, Gill, today. Goodnight, sweet prince.

Lost my buddy Gill today. He was the first fish I got when I started in the hobby and his tank was the first I set up.

Reflecting now, I wonder if his tank was set up to have the best and most stimulating situation. It was certainly a pretty tank and we'll planted and gave him cool places to explore but so I wonder if the hardscape/rocks ended up giving him the cut which may have been what took him out.

I will absolutely get another Betta (I love plakats too, with reasonable finnage…it makes them active and agile in ways other Bettas can't be)…but I will also absolutely rescape and make sure it's a better environment for the next inhabitant.
