this morning i found this little piece of something in my substrate, it's really hardy and the colors make me think it's a broken snail' shell but i really don't know how it broke, i have 10 snails, 6 pancio kuhlii, 6 otocinclus and 3 amanos, one of my snails died today sadly, i found its shell this morning too completely empty and upside, i'm pretty scared that the pancio kuhlii are going on a rampage with the snails and i really hope they won't eat any :(, i know they aren't snail killers and probably the snail was already sick but this broken shell part is really weird.

So English is my second language, so please excuse me lack in vocabulary, but this looks like the piece that’s normally by their front/mouth area, and is probably “just” part of the same dead snail from earlier today. May I ask what kind of snail it was?
