I have not had any luck with trying to find the specific fish that I would like at my local stores. I really want a Koi Plakat Candy Betta or Metallic. Male. I was hoping someone on here had some experience with ordering online and if so, the pros and cons. Also where? I want to purchase from an ethical company with a good selection. Since researching, it’s a little overwhelming with how many are out there and not having very much information on if they are legitimate or not. Thank you so much for any advice and knowledge on this matter.
We already have our tank ready and have researched what to do and what not to do for a betta and are ready for our beautiful new friend!

Ordering online isnt much different than buying in store. You get more options to choose from, and can do research on the seller. The only downside really is that you cant see the health and activeness of the fish beforehand. Also, you can typically get much higher quality fish online. Its always good to support ethical, local fish stores, but sometimes they leave more questions than answers about their stock anyway.
I have ten betta (yes I also have ten aquariums). All but two I ordered online. The majority came from Tropic Flow. I’ve had great experiences, they all came happy and healthy. I recommend them to anyone looking to buy a betta online.
