Hi.
Recently went fishing to our usual reservoir in Spain.
We fish for walleye there. Nobody really fishes for bass. There are just stories that someone once caught a couple by trolling, but other than that it’s very hard to catch one. We jig deep for zander and had honestly never caught one.
This last time the water was crystal clear, and we pulled into a little cove where we could see 10–20 bass sitting in 3–4 meters of water. We took the weights off our jigs and started casting just the soft baits with hooks (Keitech swing impact kinds). And they actually started hitting. In about an hour we landed around 40 of them, working our way through the different coves around that spot. After that hour they just stopped taking it, completely unfazed by the lure swimming past them. It was overall a great experience, I’m excited to go back and try to specifically target the bass. I’d love to know which type this is, and do some more research on them.
