I have a 60l plated tank with 5 Cory's and 1 male Betta. recently to their diet I added frozen brine shrimp, ever since then the water is a bit cloudy. m

I'm not sure how connected that is but the frozen shrimp are a blended type and have a lot of small particles in it.

originally when I saw the cloudiness I assumed it must've been my filter because it's flow was getting weaker everyday, so I rinsed the sponge out in water from my aquarium water change. water and not in tap water. I was right, the sponge was pretty dirty and the filter started working better, but the cloudiness of the water didn't go away.

I did a water change and syphoned gravel. the cloudiness didn't go away.

water parameters are fine, fish are acting all normal.

what to do? what could've caused it? I'm very careful not to overfeed.

the last picture is before it was cloudy

  1. Maybe some very fine particles that don’t get filtered out by the sponge are still suspended in the water column. Depending on the type of filter I’d recommend getting some form of fiber media that can trap the smallest particles.
