How does this stack up to newer gear? Curado Bertram sf and a gloomis gl2 probably late 90’s early 2k
was my dads bass set up, I still like to use it. but wondering how it compares to more recent rod real set ups

My dad has the exact same setup lol. Casting distance is a lot better now.

New gear are lighter.

That’s a solid setup. In my opinion the biggest advantage newer gear has is higher gear ratios. 7 gear is good for pretty much everything and 8-9 gear are amazing for flipping. But an old bantam super free will still hang with the best of them. Just ask Steve Kennedy.
