Hey, so I recently found this small strip of silicone from the inside of the fish tank loose whilst cleaning it and I’m just wondering how fucked am I? lol

Will be looking to upgrade it to a 75 gallons (55 gallons currently) but a little short on cash at the moment so kinda wondering how long can this tank last till it could possibly leak?

Yeah could be a concern. I’d honestly drain it and dry it then re silicone

  2. These hexagon tanks are imfamous for leaking at the seems. If you buy one of these you are almost guaranteed that you will need to redo the silicone at some point. So goodluck with that.

  3. I wouldn’t be. The main seam is between the glass itself and the larger seam is extra.

That’s a too-long strip to not be a concern. There are probably other places for it to be failing too so, time to reseal or get that 75.

I mean if I was you I’d wanna re seal that but I’m sure you’ll be fine for a bit. I just wouldn’t get too attached to the tank or the set up. Really sucks to see tho. Sorry you even gotta think about it. Sincerely someone that’s had the silicon fail on him more than once, good luck!
