Egg sinkers are supposed to slide up and down the line and I mostly use 1oz egg sinkers on a 20lb test braid mainline followed by a bead to protect the knot that ties a swivel. And the other end of the swivel has the leader line and hook. And sometimes I use egg sinker on a knocker rig on 20lb or 30lb test monofilament. I am noticing edges like the attached picture on the sinkers. They are not sharp yet. But after using them in saltwater and being thrown at the rocky bottom I am curious if those edges could become abrasive and cut my lines or not. Anyone dealt with such sinkers?

Don’t usually have these type of problems when using lead sinkers based on looks im assuming the ones you posted are metal which I can see having sharp edges after wearing down
Braid can either cut into the lead or be cut by the lead
Just keep an eye on your line and rig, it shouldn’t do much to your line considering how soft lead is and the line itself is cutting the lead but of your worried about it a couple beads above and below your sinker should do wonders at making sure it won’t cut through your knots
Take a file and knock it down
That’s just extra flash during the moulding process. Lead is a soft material. Just use the tip of some fishing pliers or a fishing knife to remove the little irregular areas. If you are concerned about the weights effect on your knots then put a small plastic bead between the weight and your swivel.
Those sinkers are sloppy. I would use a file and remove the burr. But you can also use a large plastic bead to prevent your knot from coming in contact with that side of the sinker.
