Aquariums: After hundreds of dollars, several hours of prep, I filled the tank only to discover the frame support was failing
Really lucky I caught it and drained the tank before the whole thing collapsed. Now I have to start all over again.

When this happened to my tank I just siliconed a piece of glass where the support goes.

Good catch. And quick and correct reactiin as opposed to “do you think I should drain it or just use it like that?”. Ha! But that sucks. Good news is that rimmed tanks are cheap nowadays.

I’d be sick. Ugh. Hopefully the exchange process goes okay. Sucks you had already put some water in it. Now you got a wet mess to pull out and put back. Wishing you the best

I removed the support on mine when this happened and added two quarter inch acrylic panels to act as bridges.

Just replace it. They’re not that expensive. https://www.aquariumframeswholesale.com/36-x-12-frame Check your size and maybe shop around a bit, that was the first result that came up for me searching replacement aquarium frame.
