A big thanks to everyone who gave me advice on my picky eater, Swim! Today I took a top side pic to see how far he’s come. Thanks to all your help, he’s eating well and has put on weight. He loves his Bug Bites and I just added some seed shrimp to the tank. First pic is when I got him, super skinny. Second pic is now, with a little meat on his bones. He’s a happy boy, who swims calmly all over his tank in and out of the tunnels, and checks out the snail once in awhile. Last pic is the cutest. He finds his spot within the silk plants at night when I turn the lights in the room off. (I’ve got him in my bedroom.) He does this every night. It’s fun to watch him be happy and flourish. Oh yeah, and he loves to make bubble nests. I’m going to get him some live plants next. But he seems okay with the silk ones for now, especially at bedtime. 😉

I’m so glad swims is doing better!!!! I’m a beginner and I’ve had a lot of trouble turning around bettas health in the past so I hope you can see what a big accomplishment this is. Bettas are fighters but they can be delicate sometimes, I hope you are proud of helping him and he looks so much better.
May I ask what size his tank is? I am concerned it’s a little small but I can’t make it out from the pics. If it is small, please don’t get discouraged. Swims seems happy enough as is and lord knows this is a massive step up from any PetSmart cups out there. Bettas usually thrive in 5-10 gallons and long is better as they are better at horizontal swimming than vertical because of their long and heavy fins.
