Wanting some input. I have a 10 gallon tank that currently has:

-a female betta

-8 harlequin rasboras

-1 mystery snail

-2 nerite snails

-an african dwarf frog

-unknown bladder snails (I noticed a baby on the glass yesterday after adding a plant, but haven't seen any adults)

I am thinking about added some chilli rasboras, but I can't decide if I'm at capacity or not. I don't want to pack too many fish into a small tank.

  1. I’d lean toward no. Always better to understock than overstock. You could get away with it, but I’d wait a while for your tank (especially plants!) to mature

Personally, I’d leave it at what you currently have, as the other person has stated, it’s better to understock than overstock.
However, you say you have an African dwarf frog. From what I’ve read and seen from r/AfricanDwarfFrog, they need to be in a same-species tank. Since they (to my knowledge) can eat the sand/dirt, which they’re not built to pass; can/will go after your fish; and have poor eyesight.

I’m trying to say this as politely as possible, since I know reddit and a lot of people won’t, but you should probably set up a second tank from the frog. I believe the bare minimum for 1 is 5g, but they are social animals. I’m not too sure how large a tank is recommended for more than 1.

*If I’m incorrect with anything about the frogs, please feel free to correct me, I haven’t done too much research into them*

At the moment I wouldn’t add anything else. Wait for those plants to grow and add a few more like Anubius and a ground cover. When you have more plants you may be able to add a few more small fish of shrimp.
