Hey, it’s my first time posting or using Reddit, so sorry any mistakes.
I was writing to learn more about bettas since I’m a first time betta fish owner, so I don’t know much. First I want to introduce my betta. Her name is Pearl😊 and I had her since August of last year (pictures of the day will included for reference are needed). I’ve seen TikTok’s of sign of betta’s being happy, but they always show male bettas, and say is they make bubbles they are happy; so I don’t know if the sign will be the same for a female betta(might be but still wanted to ask).
And also what is their lifespan?😢

Making a bubble nest doesn’t actually mean they are happy, it means they are ready to reproduce.
Bettas live 3-5 years but chain pet store bettas often only survive 1-2 years due to poor breeding practices.
While what the other person said is true, bubble nest doesn’t necessarily mean happy or good conditions (as I have experienced bettas in cups making bubble nests) the misconception comes from the fact that most animals and fish will often not actively try to reproduce if it is not beneficial for them to do so in the environment they are in. Therefore, breeding betta = healthy betta. Not necessarily true, but theres some truth to it. As long as your parameters read fine, your tank has a stable cycle, 5 gallons+, and I see love plants which means your probably not doing half bad!
The plant is your first photo is an Anubia and shouldn’t be planted in the substrate. The thick horizontal base where the leaves and roots come out is the rhizome. That part needs to stay above the sand, otherwise it can rot. Only the thin roots can be tucked in lightly, or better yet the plant can be attached to wood or rock.
