Decided on a whim to drive up to the Middle and Clark forks of the Stanislaus and got completely skunked… the generous fella at Sonora Fly Company had mentioned a tiny creek with warmer water where I could fish with dry flies and I got there in time for a (mayfly, I think) hatch. He said “the fish are going to be smaller there” and yeah he didn’t lie!
Got skunked at my main destination so I decided to (gently) terrorize these little guys instead. 10/10 very calming little stream of water, unlike the raging Stanislaus.
