I currently have my vsx2 200 paired up with a Daiwa emblem but I’m thinking of upgrading to a lighter, more balance rod. I was looking at a 10’ rod cause I want something somewhat short for my jetty fishing. I’m mostly concerned about how the rod balances on the hand
Also some night time bass from last weekend.

Not at all
I use a vs200 on my 9ft lamiglas supersurf , and I also use one on my 10’ lamiglas infinity both work well.I think you should be fine. If in doubt go to a tackle shop with your reel* and feel it yourself.
