7’ Brawler Trophy med heavy with a Miravel 4000xg. New to fishing looking to go fish on the NC coast this weekend is this equipment okay? I’m guessing surf fishing is out of the question.

I like using a pole 9′ or bigger for the surf. This would be awesome at the jetty if they have one where you are.

It would be a good jetty pole, but for surf I would got for a 9′ or more.

other than needing to fill the spool the rest of the way up its fine.
The miravel is a sealed reel as long as you dont dunk it in ocean water it will be fine.
7 foot is a little short for a surf rod but you can do it. Ive seen people surf fishing with 6-7 foot rods and 3000 size reels.
I personally would be using braided line with a leader for line management purposes and to have a little more line.
