I’ve heard it’s not recommended to catch ants as a snack for bettas since ants found in the home may have walked over harmful chemicals, they produce formic acid which can be harmful to fish if eaten in large quantities, some ants have strong mandibles and can bite the betta, and also pose a risk of introducing parasites

If you get the chance you should try out feeding some fruit flies or pinhead crickets. I used to give my them to mine and he’d go crazy. I loved watching him go hunting
