Betta Fish: Officially lost a betta from jumping.

Hi all. I’ve been keeping bettas for a bit now and while I always read horror stories about bettas jumping, I never experienced myself.

I’m currently on vacation and changed the water out of all the babies tanks before I left. My mom is feeding them and checking up on them.

However, last night she found one of my sweet babies on the ground. She unfortunately didn’t make it. I can’t stop crying and thinking if I over filled the tank – I did maintenance on her plants and wondering if I left too much of an opening. I feel so guilty.

Wanted to share my story because I never thought it would happen to me and I was always so cautious. Please please watch your water lines and where you see gaps, cover them. They will find a way.
