Was wanting to be able to securely store my rods on my truck bed but they’re all too long for my truck bed. Thought maybe u could js put rod holders on top of my tonneau cover and let the tips hang off the edge. Does this seem like a good idea?

I see guys up here in the pnw doing that. Wouldn’t hurt to have some type of bungie to go over them just in case. My only bug worry with having the rods exposed like that when I’m driving is rock chips but maybe I’m paranoid.

Invites theft, dirty rods and reels and the constant sun exposure is bad for line
Keep em in the bed
If it works it works. I would be worried about losing them or being stolen.

I have expensive shit. I would need them to be more secure than that at least. Not in love with the idea of all the dust they’re picking up that way either but that’s probably just an overreaction.
Why not just do that on the bottom of the cover?
