I was playing around with my new rod I bought and just learning how to take it apart and put it back together and I over tightened the part that holds the reel onto the rod im just wondering if this is a big worry or if its okay to keep using

Contact the store, you might be able to get a new rod or get that specific part. Worst case you probably can get away using it, but it’s lifespan might be shorter.
