I just recently had a Lowrance HR 5SS that had a bad transponder. I replaced it with the 7TS that was on the trolling motor up front. (It was set up like then when I bought the boat) I moved the transponder from the trolling motor to the back of there boat where the previous transponder was that worked just fine until it stopped clicking at all. Now my 7TS will work just fine after driving to a spot and do perfect until we drop the trolling motor and use it. It will show this exact screen and be stuck at 1.5 ft for probably 10 minutes of no trolling motor. I put the new transponder in the same spot as the old one so I couldn’t imagine that it’s not low enough to read. Has anyone had this problem or have enough knowledge to tell me what’s wrong? Thanks!

Do you have that transponder / fish finder wired up to the trolling motor battery ? Trolling motor should be on its own deep cycles and fish finders and accessories wired up to the starter battery to avoid interference like this.
