My first time fishing. I forgot to get worms. Do fish like cheddar?

    Not really hahaha
And there’s a low chance something big enough just comes and boofs this huge piece of cheese lol

Honestly? Lowkey it might work lol. I dropped my box of nerds candy in the water by accident one day and the blue gill fucking loved it.

  3. You actually CAN catch fish with cheese…..there’s cheese flavored catfish bait…so don’t be so quick to disqualify it. Good luck!

The bougie fish around me refuse to eat any cheese except smoked Gouda.

  5. When it doubt. Start tearing apart the nearest rotting log and turning over rocks

    Edit:

For anyone who might be fussy about the environmental impact, what do you think happens in nature when an animal wants a bug from a log?

In fact , by tearing apart that log , you are playing the part of a large animal providing foraging opportunities for smaller animals

Cats will eat anything that smells enough. Otherwise, I mean I’ve seen panfish hit a bare hook, so, maybe with a little luck?

  7. If there’s channel cat in that lake, you definitely have a reasonable chance with the cheese. Not even kidding. People use everything from hot dogs, cheese, liver, worms, plastic, other fish, etc the kitty’s are just hungry.

  8. I’ve seen stranger things than catching a fish with a cheezit. I’d personally try to catch a bug or dig up a worm.

Once when me and my brothers were fishing, we were being jerks and wouldn’t give my little brother any bait. We were just catching small yellow perch. My little brother used a small piece of deli meat and caught a huge rainbow trout.

That was our main fishing spot and we had never caught anything but small panfish there.

No, but mice do. Catch yourself a mouse and then maybe you could use that to catch a big fish. 😁

Silly as it may sound, around here when fishing for stocked rainbow trout a favorite bait is Velveeta cheese on a #12 or #14 treble hook.

Never tried cheddar but it’s worth a shot IMO. 👍

  12. Walk 10 feet and find a large rock log, or debris in the dirt. Turn it over and you will find bait.
