Hello all, this is the first time I'm taking care of a fish because of my kids. Our first try didn't went well, this is our second fish. I have no prev experience and trying to get help from AI if its health is good/bad/getting better. But the feedback is not reliable. it either in good shape or in very bad condition. I cannot tell. Could you please help with your comments? Do you thinks this fish is healthy or have issues?
Note: fins are getting better. mostly concerned about the coloration on head.

Thats probably just the pigment coming in, if he’s new then they’ll just keep getting better and color will start popping in, provided it’s in a healthy tank. Diet also matters, proper feeding as well.
I got my betta last week, when I brought him home, he had this red patch on his head since then the red pigment is spreading to the rest of his head.
Did you cycle the tank and do you test the water? It could be the coloration like the other poster mentioned but it does kind of look like it could be an ammonia burn so it would be important to rule that out.
