I have been fishing for 3 months now and it's been a journey, i've had some out of norm experiences just by being out there in nature a lot. Recently I was out fishing in a lonelier part of a lake. Then a couple with their kid come for a swim about 30 meters away from me. The man apparently didn't know how to swim, and that part of the lake, you take a few steps in and you sink about 4 feet instantly and get deeper. He starts drowning, I thought the was playing around with his daughter, until I hear him scream "IM DROWNING!" then the wife jumps in and he starts pulling her down, while all that is happening my hook is getting bit, and then it sets. I drop the rod and pull both of them out. After seeing he is fine and his daughter swim to shore safely I come back to my rod with this personal best Sun Fish still hooked. I thank the universe and God I was there to help them. I was soaking wet and that ended my day. Any newbies experience anything crazy being out there?
