Betta Fish: Betta jumped out of tank.

Literally close to only 5 hours since i had gone to bed my betta had jumped out and when i went to feed them in the morning he never ran up to like usual so i freak out take everything out of the tank looking for him then eventually find him in the back, he jumped in the only spot with a gap, he was dry and crispy when i found him and after a while of bawling i research and here stories that they can potentially survive and need to be rehydrated, i just need to know is it too late for my little guy or should i hold out hope because he regained his color after rehydrating

Edit: Should mention i found him dry and crispy outside the tank with his gills open, please if anyone has insight that would be wonderful i already miss him so much he was just starting a bubble nest yesterday 🙁
