Hi! I'm 2 weeks into fish life, and am learning that bettas are much more choosy than the pet store lets on… I just want him to be happy so am looking for guidance
He currently has:
-a 4.5 gallon bowl
-a 22w jolly preset
-sponge filter
-live aquatic plant
-pothos
-smooth pebbles
-4 baby vibra bites, 2x/day
I want to:
– upgrade to a 10 gallon (options in second photo)
– add more plants
– switch to a 50w jolly preset (i live in new england)
– a quieter air pump (recommendations would be appreciated!)
– add substrate for under the pebbles
– add a suction cup driftwood lounger
– add a snail ?
also want to mention that he doesn't try to jump
what are your thoughts on this ?
Is there anything i'm forgetting ?
does he look healthy ? (his fins look split at the bottom)
lastly: WHAT WOULD YOU NAME HIM ?

Good that you are getting him out of the bowl, it does something to betta’s vision (i am pretty sure). I believe everything is correct (i am a beginner so dont rely on it) . I would name him cardinal:) Beautiful betta!
