Just ordered some mushroom jig heads off Amazon because I wanted to try out the Ned rig. For some reason I can’t get the top of the work to stay touching the jig. Is it because of that little hook under the jig head? Figured it’s for making sure the worm didn’t slide too low but idk. Any tips or advice would help a lot.

Yeah just jam it with force. Hard to get on but the holder does work well
It might take a couple tries to get used to but you have the right idea. That little hook is to lock the worm on the hook so it doesn’t slide. I typically will pinch the worm right below the little hook point and push it up over a little extra for a strong hold.
I actually use needle nose pliers and break those keepers off and just use guerrilla glue gel. They stay on strait and for a hell of a long time. And if it starts to slip just reapply and you good.
With elaztech/tpe baits you don’t push the plastic over the keeper, you pull it. Just pinch a bit of the nose of the plastic and pull it over the keeper, might take a couple tries but it’ll get over the keeper and be snug with the head.
Loctite gel superglue. The bottle has a little click applicator so you only get one drop at a time.
That little hook is to keep the worm in place. Force the worm further down till its touching the base of the head
With elaztech plastics you thread the bait on then when you get to that little hook you grab the bottom of the tip of the bait and pull it down and towards the jighead, it might take afew attempts but it will be perfectly snug and stay for a long time.
