The initial startup price was a bit daunting and hard to visualize for them, so I drew up a sheet of each item/category and how much each cost to help break it down.
Every time they raise enough, we put a sticky over the category/item, and write down the additional amount saved.
Once we have enough for the heater and light, we will start cycling the tank while they raise the money for the fish/shrimp/food/decorations. We ended up x-ing the thermometer since the heater has a thermometer included.
If there is anything glaring that we missed or if you have starting advice, we would greatly appreciate it!
Enjoy!

What type of fish and their are much cheaper lights that work really well as well as Petco having tanks half off! You should try to get cheaper lights and get a gh and kh kit because shrimp need certain water parameters to survive.
