I've wanted a Shimano, and heard the Scorpion is a great choice, the description of the noise has me worried.
What is their support like? Would they fix a 2nd hand purchase through support if needed and what should I look out for?

It probably just needs regreasing. You could ask for a video of the sound. If its just constant grinding noise or hissing noise its probably just dry of lube and needs servicing
