Does anyone know how to keep Kuhlis from getting into the filter? I have an HOB and 2 of them keep trying to get into it by going into the outflow. This is the third rescue I’ve had to do and I’m scared they’ll get hurt one of these days.

You don’t. That’s where their dumbasses will end up. I had 5. Now I have 3. I think. Found one in the filter dead stuck in the bottom intake and one alive in the main filtration reservoir still alive during a cleaning. If they fit they will go. I recommend getting some yoyo loaches instead. You can actually see them frequently and they won’t try to imprison themselves.
Get a sponge that goes around your intake. Prevents fish and other critters from getting sucked into it
