A few weeks ago, I added four juveniles angelfish to my very established 50 gallon aquarium. A week or so ago, I noticed white spots on my E Blue acara and giant danios, and immediately assumed ich. I also wanted to be safe, so bought kanaplex for epistylis at a similar time. Therefore, I have been treating the tank with ich-x and kanaplex in the food (with gelatin) for about a week. The fish are not improving, the angels fins appear to be wasting away slowly and they are becoming more lethargic everyday. Two days ago I lost two giant danios. Today I lost a bristlenose pleco. All three fish were old-ish, about 6 years. The acara is a similar age. I performed a salt bath for the angelfish and acara yesterday. Should I continue treatment or get some new medication?

Symptoms today are:
Acara – tiny white spots on head and body, pinkish/white swollen mouth, extreme lethargy
Danios- no spots, weird somewhat erratic behavior
Angelfish- fin rot? cloudiness on fin edges, lethargy
Other pleco- relatively normal no spots

Attached are some pictures I have taken over the last week. Please share to anyone who might have advice.

For the Acara, he might have Ick, but for the others, Maybe try a salt dip?(not 100% certain), and quarantine the infected fish.

I don’t believe this is ick. Check out treatments for Epistylis plus the bacterial infection. Good luck.
